Fantastic fiction

Last week I read one of our new titles,"The boy in the striped pyjamas" by John Boyne.

Bruno is a spirited boy whose family is moved from a comfortable Berlin home due to his father's occupation. The reader is never told his father's occupation, but the new home near Out-With is a very lonely place until Bruno meets Shmuel. Shmuel always wears striped pyjamas and lives on the other side of very high barbed wire fence. This moving, powerful holocaust story is a great read. Be sure to read it before you see the movie....and please don't share the ending.
